MarketsandMarkets forecasts HVAC filters market at $6.21bn by 2031

The global HVAC filters market is projected to grow from $4.66 billion in 2026 to $6.21 billion by 2031, according to MarketsandMarkets. The forecast represents a compound annual growth rate of 5.9%, driven by urbanization, industrialization, indoor air quality concerns and stricter air quality requirements.

Asia Pacific accounted for 37.0% of the market by value in 2025. North America is expected to hold the second-largest share during the forecast period, supported by demand from commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial sites and data centers, as well as building renovations and retrofits.

Carbon filters held a 39.6% market share by value in 2025, while HEPA technology is projected to record the fastest growth, with a CAGR of 5.4%. The report links HEPA adoption to applications requiring high-quality air purification, including healthcare, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, data centers and commercial buildings.

Synthetic polymers are forecast to be the fastest-growing material segment by value. The report states that materials including polyester and polypropylene offer higher dust-holding capacity, lower pressure drop and longer durability than fiberglass filters. The food and beverage industry is expected to be the fastest-growing end-use segment, supported by filtration requirements in processing, packaging, cold storage and beverage production facilities.

The building and construction segment represented 39.0% of the market by value in 2025. Companies identified among the market’s key participants include Donaldson, Parker Hannifin, Calgon Carbon, Camfil, American Air Filter, 3M, Koch Filter, Troy Filters, Filtration Group and Sandler.
