ABB has expanded its HVACR-specific ACH580-01 drive series with new 315 and 355 kW variants, offering compact wall-mounted VFDs designed for chiller and cooling compressor applications.
The new drives are engineered to reduce panel footprint and system complexity through their compact design. Available in IP21 and IP55 versions, they can be skid-mounted directly to cooling compressors or integrated into cabinets, including under-unit horizontal mounting.
The ACH580-01 series includes a dedicated feature set for cooling compressors, supporting offline configuration to enable commissioning without a physical drive. A patented tilting cabling box allows quick access to internal components for easier installation and maintenance.
Built for demanding environments, the drives operate in ambient temperatures up to 55 °C (without derating up to 40 °C) and comply with C3 (IP21) and C4 (IP55) environmental ratings. They include conformity documents for A2L and A3 refrigerants.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are provided to assist manufacturers and system integrators in meeting sustainability targets. In addition to cooling and refrigeration systems, the drives are also suitable for heat pump applications. Standard refrigerant tables and Antoine Coefficients for custom refrigerants are included to support integration into both new and existing systems.
