Advansor Unveils Reversible Plug-and-Play CO2 Heat Pump for Sustainable Heating and Cooling
Advansor has announced the launch of its new ValueBox Combi, a reversible plug-and-play CO2 heat pump designed to deliver efficient and sustainable heating and cooling. The latest innovation builds on the company’s ValueBox product, launched in 2024, with the new model capable of simultaneous heating and cooling.

The ValueBox Combi is a factory-built, pre-programmed unit that requires only water and electricity connections. According to Advansor CEO Kristian Breitenbauch, the system is easy to install, typically operational within one or two days. “Advansor CO2 plug-and-play heat pumps are based on well-proven technology, require no safety risk management, and are fully assembled and factory tested,” he said. Capacities range from 200-700 kW per unit, with parallel configurations enabling outputs of 5 MW or more, making it one of the largest plug-and-play CO2 heat pumps on the market.

Efficiency and Energy Savings

The system offers a high Coefficient of Performance (COP), often exceeding 5, even with significant temperature differentials. The reversible functionality ensures energy efficiency by reusing heat or cooling rather than producing it. Additionally, it reduces water circulation needs by effectively doubling the delta T, leading to lower energy consumption and substantial savings.

CO2 is used as the refrigerant, offering a non-toxic, non-flammable alternative to traditional refrigerants. This eliminates the need for additional safety management and ensures compliance with EU F-gas regulations. The ValueBox Combi supports a wide temperature profile, accommodating inlet temperatures of +40°C and outlet temperatures of +95°C, making it suitable for replacing fossil fuel boilers and chillers.

Flexible and User-Friendly Design

The compact design of the ValueBox Combi makes it ideal for retrofitting existing systems or integrating into new builds. Fast start and stop capabilities allow the system to align with grid balancing requirements and minimize energy costs. An intuitive touch screen provides easy monitoring and performance tracking, while standardized controllers and MODBUS integration enable seamless operation without the need for additional controls.

Chief Technology Officer Kenneth Bank Madsen emphasized the flexibility of the system: “The Advansor-developed control system ensures the heat pump always runs at optimal conditions, adapting to its environment. The master-slave functionality allows for a standardized combination of units in parallel, delivering scalability without compromising the ease of installation.”

A Commitment to Sustainability

Founded in 2006, Advansor has long focused on CO2-based heating and cooling solutions to address environmental challenges. CEO Kristian Breitenbauch underscored the company’s mission: “Our CO2 heat pump is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, supporting businesses in their transition towards greener operations.”

With this latest launch, Advansor continues to lead the transition to sustainable heating and cooling solutions across industries, offering a practical and energy-efficient alternative to fossil fuel systems.
