Carrier has enhanced its lineup of communicating peripherals for the i-Vu building automation system by introducing smart valves with Characterized Control Valve (CCV) technology and smart damper actuators. These intelligent devices are designed to improve comfort, energy efficiency, and control in buildings, furthering Carrier’s commitment to sustainability and innovative HVAC solutions.
Key features of these new smart peripherals include direct connectivity to the actuator sub-network (Act Net) bus on any Act Net-enabled i-Vu controller, precise position control and feedback, and simplified setup through Act Net auto-addressing. Up to eight smart devices can be connected to each i-Vu controller, reducing installation time and providing quick setup.
The devices are equipped with advanced valve technology, including Characterized Control Valve (CCV™) technology for stable flow and energy efficiency, and Multi-Function Technology (MFT) for precise valve/damper control. Additionally, the smart peripherals offer remote accessibility through the i-Vu system, allowing for local and remote analysis, error detection, and real-time feedback for maintenance.
The new smart valves and actuators will be available for order in the U.S. and Canada starting on October 2, 2024. These smart peripherals are suitable for various applications, including air handling units, heating and cooling coils, fan coil units, unit ventilators, and VAV re-heat coils, and they work with both Carrier and non-Carrier HVAC equipment.
