Carrier Introduces Domestic Hot Water Air-to-Water Heat Pump

Carrier has launched its first Domestic Hot Water Air-to-Water (DHW A2W) Heat Pump in North America, unveiled at the International Builders’ Show (IBS). This new system integrates home heating, cooling, and domestic hot water into a single, energy-efficient solution designed for both new builds and retrofits.

The DHW A2W Heat Pump features advanced refrigerant technology and a compact outdoor unit, making it compatible with radiant floor heating, forced air systems, chilled panels, and even driveway warming applications. With a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of up to 4.9, the system provides substantial energy savings compared to traditional heating methods, reducing carbon emissions and lowering utility costs for homeowners.

“At Carrier, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that prioritize sustainability without compromising on performance or comfort,” said Braden Cook, Sr. Director of Product Management, Training, and Service at Carrier. “The DWH A2W Heat Pump is an important step forward in our product lineup, and we’re thrilled to offer this groundbreaking technology to our customers.”

Key features of the DHW A2W Heat Pump include:

  • High Energy Efficiency – COP up to 4.9 for reduced energy consumption.
  • Versatile Integration – Supports multiple heating and cooling applications.
  • Sustainability-Focused – Uses a lower GWP refrigerant to minimize environmental impact.
  • Quiet Operation – Sound levels between 52–56 dB.
  • Smart Controls – Integrated user-friendly interface with remote access.

To simplify installation, Carrier offers the system as a complete kit, including the heat pump, hot water tanks, an indoor control panel, and required fittings under a single part number. Multiple tank sizes are available to match different heat pump capacities, ensuring flexibility for various applications.

The DHW A2W Heat Pump aligns with Carrier’s commitment to developing sustainable HVAC solutions and helping builders meet evolving energy regulations.
