Carrier has released the AquaSnap 30RQM, a modular air-sourced reversible heat pump designed for scalable performance and energy efficiency. The unit features a compact footprint and supports building electrification by operating in low ambient temperatures, reducing dependence on traditional boiler systems.
The 30RQM operates with R-454B (Puron Advance), a refrigerant with a lower global warming potential (GWP), and can produce hot water up to 140°F (60°C). It is designed to function at ambient temperatures below 0°F (-18°C).
Up to 16 units can be linked for a combined capacity of 320 tons of cooling or 4,222 MBH of heating. Key components include SmartVu controls, a variable-speed compressor, and low-noise fans.
“The modular design of the 30RQM increases redundancy, reliability and flexibility to operate on either cooling or heating mode depending on your needs and the season,” said Frank Silva, Senior Manager, Chiller Product Marketing.
