Carrier Transicold has introduced the Vector S 15, a new temperature-controlled trailer unit designed to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs. The unit builds on the performance of the Vector 1550 while offering 20% lower fuel consumption, addressing key economic challenges for transport operators.
Featuring a semi-electric architecture, the Vector S 15 maintains the same refrigeration performance in diesel mode as its predecessor but operates with improved energy efficiency. “The Vector S 15 marks a significant step forward in refrigerated transport efficiency,” said Jean-Michel Vadecard, Product Director Truck Trailer International, Carrier Transicold. “Its robust design, outstanding fuel efficiency and ability to operate at low noise levels provide an economical, high-performance solution for our customers – an important factor in the current economic climate.”
Beyond fuel savings, the Vector S 15 is engineered for quiet operation, automatically switching to reduced speed when maintaining temperature. This feature lowers noise levels by 6 dB(A) compared to the Vector 1550, making it well-suited for urban deliveries and noise-sensitive environments.
Weighing approximately 700 kilograms, the unit is among the lightest in its class, helping improve payload capacity and further reducing fuel consumption. Maintenance is also streamlined with an extended oil maintenance interval of 3,000 hours and an accessible service system that minimizes downtime.
The Vector S 15 is telematics-ready, integrating seamlessly with Carrier Transicold’s Lynx Fleet digital platform. By leveraging refrigeration equipment data and machine learning, the platform enables transport operators to make data-driven decisions, enhancing efficiency and sustainability in their supply chains.
