CIAT has introduced a new range of split air conditioning systems based on R32, a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) and zero Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) replacement for R410A refrigerant, which is subject to phase-down under the F-Gas Regulations.CIAT in the United Kingdom is a part of Toshiba Carrier UK Ltd (TCUK).
The comprehensive new R32 range includes air conditioning systems for domestic and light commercial applications, high-wall splits, floor-mounted consoles, under-ceiling units, cassettes, ducted units, plus a range of multi-split outdoor condensing units.Previous models running on R410A will be phased-out and replaced by R32 systems.
Paul Smith, head of sales at CIAT UK, said: “R32 has a GWP that is one-third R410A – just675 versus 2088 for R410A. This is a big step forward and significantly reduces CO2-equivalent emissions. We believe R32 offersthe ideal balance between energy efficiency and performance, and will be welcomed by installers and end users.”
He added: “All CIAT R32 split systems are equipped withthe latest inverter technology to deliverexcellent comfort and outstandingenergy efficiency. This offers contractors a high quality option at a competitive price point.”
The range includes the Stella high-wall R32-based split, with full reversible operation under inverter control, equipped with Wi-Fi enabled control and monitoring. The high-efficiency unit has Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) values in excess of 7and Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) values all above 4, among the best split system performance available.
The Mambo small commercial range of floor-standing console air conditionersunits are highly flexible, with two air outlets and four air inlets, and can be sited on a wall or under a ceiling.They are equipped with a fresh-air intake port that can easily be accessed for connection to a fresh air duct to further enhance indoor air quality.
The Salsa heat pump cassette unit has a 360degree air-flow to ensure even temperature distribution across a room, without creating draughts. A ventilation motor can be added in a connected fresh air duct to further improve air quality.
The slim CIAT ducted series offers a wide static pressure rangefor high performance and energy efficiency. To speed up installation further, it is possible for installers to automatically configure the external static pressure on ducted units.
Completing the range is a series of CIAT multi-split outdoor condensing units, with options capable of serving between two and five indoor units. They can be multiplexed in combination to offer high performance, compact cooling and heating for any size of project.
