Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. through its brand Climaveneta, presents the new FX: the air-cooled chiller range with screw compressors dedicated to comfort and process applications. With thousands of screw chillers installed worldwide, this next generation unit builds on Climaveneta’s extensive know-how and adds innovative high performing features to bring excellent full and part load efficiencies and comply with the latest Eco-design regulations. The range is available in three efficiency versions and several acoustic configurations, from 289 to 1710 kW, offering customers a multitude of end use opportunities. Dedicated accessories and functions complete the line-up, making the units adaptable even to the most complex mission-critical applications.
CSC screw compressors
The key features of the unit are the CSC screw compressors, specifically designed according to Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems specifications and for its exclusive use. Thanks to the specific design of the internal volumes, an enhanced lubrication system, and brilliantly engineered mechanics, the CSC compressor brings a remarkable increase in the chiller’s efficiency, especially at partial loads (ESEER up to 4,46).
The FX can operate in any climate from -20°C to +54°C and, thanks to special features and highly resistant coil coatings, it can withstand even the harshest industrial or marine environments. A whole range of accessories and equipment brings a high degree of configurability, making FX the right choice for any commercial and industrial system needs.
The FX can be selected with partial or total heat recovery that delivers hot water production up to 60°C. These configurations are ideal for DHW production or other secondary uses, such as the integration of an existing boiler or the air treatment in applications with AHUs.
W3000TE control logic and KIPlink innovative interface
Core logic behind the FX is the control software W3000TE. Characterized by advanced functions and algorithms, W3000TE features proprietary settings to ensure faster responses to different dynamics, in all operating modes. Direct access to the control functions comes through the innovative KIPlink interface, which allows the user to operate on the unit directly from a mobile device (smartphone, tablet, notebook) via Wi-Fi technology. The powerful KIPlink processor enhances the key controller functions and makes unit management smooth and easy. The real-time graphs and component monitoring ease on-site operation while the detailed data logging improves diagnostics.
Special features for mission critical applications
The FX includes a variety of devices and functions that maximize the unit’s uptime in case of emergency circumstances and makes the chiller suitable for Uptime Institute’s TIER III and TIER IV, the highest rating of reliability. For example, Fast Restart ensures a faster return to the necessary cooling levels by re-activating the compressors within only 25 seconds after a power outage whereas the double power supply allows the unit to be connected to two separate power lines that can be used as back-up should one fail.
