Daikin to Launch Two New Commercial Air Conditioning Units in Japan

Daikin Industries, Ltd. has announced the launch of two new air conditioning products in Japan to address growing demands for energy efficiency and operational reliability in large commercial spaces and high-humidity environments. The “Multi Jet” air conditioning unit for large spaces will be released in mid-April 2026, while the “FIVE STAR ZEAS” model for offices and retail stores will be available from April 1, 2026.

The “Multi Jet” is designed for factories, gymnasiums, and other large indoor areas. It incorporates Daikin’s proprietary rectifier plate that delivers airflow up to 20 meters. The unit is compatible with Daikin’s VRV7 and machi Multi systems, offering flexible installation options including ceiling-suspended, wall-mounted, and floor-standing configurations. It supports piping lengths up to 165 meters and can be remotely managed via the company’s centralized control equipment and cloud-based DK-CONNECT system. The unit also features “discharge air temperature control,” ensuring efficient air distribution while reducing power consumption.

The second product, “FIVE STAR ZEAS,” is a flagship energy-saving model for Daikin’s SkyAir series, targeting commercial and office use. Addressing issues caused by condensation in ceiling-mounted units during Japan’s humid summers, the system includes two optional kits: the “Magnetic High-Humidity Response Kit” to prevent condensation on indoor unit surfaces and the “Condensation Suppression Sensing Kit” for refrigerant pipe temperature control based on dew point monitoring. New functions include automatic notifications for drain pan cleaning and a “drain pump fresh-up” operation that helps prevent clogging-related shutdowns.

FIVE STAR ZEAS also offers improved cooling performance under high ambient temperatures. Compared to the standard Eco ZEAS models, it maintains 108% cooling capacity at 43°C outdoor temperature. Enhanced energy efficiency is achieved through the use of microchannel heat exchangers, SiC semiconductors, and high-efficiency fan motors, delivering industry-leading annual performance factor (APF) in models ranging from 4.0 to 16.0 kW.

Daikin states it will continue developing air conditioning solutions tailored to environmental changes and customer requirements.
