Danfoss has introduced the Universal TR6 Thermostatic Expansion Valve, designed to simplify inventory and installation processes for HVAC contractors and wholesalers. The new valve is compatible with legacy refrigerants such as R-410A and with low-GWP alternatives including R-454B and R-32.
The Universal TR6 is suitable for residential retrofits and new light commercial systems. It enables contractors to carry fewer parts by offering compatibility with multiple refrigerants in a single product. Wholesalers can also optimize shelf space with reduced SKU requirements.
The valve is supplied as a kit including the valve, bulb strap, insulation tape, installation guide, and three connector types: Chatleff, Aeroquip, and flare. Danfoss describes it as a technologically advanced version of the existing TR6 line.
Key features include refrigerant flexibility, improved energy efficiency, simplified inventory management, and reduced risk of system downtime. The product is positioned to support the industry’s shift toward lower-GWP refrigerants without compromising performance.
“We’re excited to introduce the Universal TR6 to the market,” said Ignacio Termenon, Head of Sales Development at Danfoss. “This valve is a game-changer for the HVAC industry, offering an all-in-one solution that simplifies refrigerant transitions and enhances system efficiency, all while helping to meet sustainability goals.”
