Fujitsu General Introduces nocria W and L Series with Removable Airflow Path

New mid-range residential models in Japan feature enhanced cleaning access and 2027-compliant energy efficiency.

Fujitsu General has announced the launch of its new nocria W and nocria L series residential air conditioners for the Japanese market. The W Series will be available from March 31, 2025, followed by the L Series on April 30, 2025. Both series introduce a new removable airflow path design, enabling easier internal cleaning in response to growing consumer interest in indoor air quality.

The new models allow users to detach the up/down and left/right louvers, along with the airflow path panels - an industry-first for wall-mounted residential units in Japan, according to Fujitsu General. This feature was developed based on customer feedback, particularly concerns about inaccessible and unhygienic interior components.

Both series also include the new “Marugoto Cleaning Timer,” a composite feature that automates three internal cleaning functions: heat exchanger sterilization, mold control, and filter cleaning (the latter is exclusive to the W Series). The sterilization process, tested under controlled conditions, showed a reduction of 99% or more in bacteria and mold after 10 minutes.

All models in the W and L Series meet Japan’s 2027 energy efficiency standards. Designed for increasingly extreme weather and rising energy use, these units aim to reduce electricity costs while maintaining indoor comfort. The units feature streamlined front panel designs that reduce visual bulk compared to previous energy-efficient models.

“The new airflow path panel was developed in direct response to customer concerns about indoor air quality and ease of maintenance,” the company stated.

The W and L Series will be sold exclusively in Japan.
