GEA Germany launches ValveCalc 9.0 for refrigeration system design

GEA AWP has released an updated version of its design software for industrial refrigeration and heating systems. ValveCalc 9.0 introduces new modules, enhanced functions, and an expanded database to support engineers in system planning and component selection.

The new version includes updates to standards, such as DIN EN ISO 24664, and integrates the HSX high-pressure float range into a dedicated calculation module. A new project overview allows users to manage and adjust multiple calculations from a single interface. The software now features a redesigned interface with vector-based symbols and improved navigation tools, such as search, fixation, and color-coding in design tables.

Technical updates in the safety valve module allow tabular comparison of blow-off capacities by nominal diameter over configurable pressure ranges. In the pipe design module, users can compare pressure losses across diameters in table format and visualize them in relation to cooling capacity. Key system parameters are also displayed in the diagrams. The catalog module now provides direct access to certificates and operating instructions for each component.

ValveCalc 9.0 is available as both a downloadable application and a cloud-based version via virtual desktop infrastructure. The cloud option enables browser-based use without local installation, bypassing potential network security restrictions. The system is hosted in a GDPR-compliant German data center to ensure high performance, even on low-power computers.

Customers can request ValveCalc 9.0 free of charge. GEA AWP offers free online live training in addition to the available tutorials.
