Heatcraft Refrigeration Products has introduced new UL-listed dual-refrigerant systems that support both A1 (HFC) and A2L (HFO) refrigerants, allowing users to operate with current refrigerants while preparing for future regulatory changes.
The dual-refrigerant approach is designed to reduce inventory complexity for wholesalers, ease the EPA Technology Transition for contractors, and provide cost-effective compliance solutions for end users. The systems are engineered to meet the UL 60335-2-89 safety standard and comply with U.S. EPA SNAP 26 regulations.
According to Heatcraft, the units feature practical labeling to support safe operation throughout their lifecycle, and installation procedures are consistent with existing practices. By consolidating SKUs and enabling future conversion, the solution aims to reduce economic and operational burdens across the refrigeration supply chain.
“Every aspect of our equipment—from design and installation to conversion and ongoing service—is engineered with safety at its core,” said Bob Landi, Vice President and General Manager of Heatcraft Refrigeration Products. “Providing the industry with a safe and adaptable pathway to transition to newly designed A2L refrigeration systems...represents a significantly more sustainable and responsible approach.”
