KRONE Unveils the Sustainable and Versatile eCool Liner at IAA Transportation

KRONE is showcasing its latest innovations at the IAA Transportation event, highlighting the exceptional versatility of its Cool Liner refrigerated semi-trailer. The all-electric eCool Liner, equipped with the BPW ePower generator axle and Thermo King Advancer A-500e AxlePower refrigeration unit with a battery pack, is the centerpiece of KRONE's sustainability drive. Designed for efficiency and eco-friendliness, this new model significantly reduces carbon emissions while offering versatile features for various applications, including urban and industrial settings.

Key Features and Innovations

  1. Electric Cooling for Urban Transport: The eCool Liner is tailored for inner-city refrigerated transport, equipped with an all-electric refrigeration system that eliminates the need for a diesel unit. The trailer features a recuperating generator axle that powers a battery pack, which in turn powers the Thermo King refrigeration unit. This results in zero CO2 and particulate emissions, making it ideal for environmentally conscious operations. Additionally, the refrigeration unit operates quietly, allowing for night deliveries with minimal disturbance.

  2. Flexible Multitemp Solutions: KRONE’s Cool Liner Multitemp offers flexible multi-chamber systems, allowing users to create various temperature zones within the trailer. The innovative ATP-tested Isowall cross partition wall, which can be easily repositioned along the trailer, enhances operational efficiency by providing customizable temperature control.

  3. Optimized Design for Efficiency: The Cool Liner boasts a compact, user-friendly design with easy access to components, and the option for "plug-and-cool" installations. Its low coupling feature supports long-haul operations with reduced CO2 emissions. Additionally, the new lighting concept includes advanced LED lights for improved trailer illumination, while road safety is enhanced through upgraded rear lighting options.

  4. Enhanced Durability and Telematics: Built with high stability and reinforced chassis, the Cool Liner is designed to withstand impacts at loading docks and offer maximum durability. KRONE’s flexible impact protection system allows for customization based on operational needs. Furthermore, KRONE equips the Cool Liner with its Telematics KSC ProPlus Cool system, offering real-time monitoring of location, temperature, and operational data, ensuring seamless logistics management.

  5. Adaptability for Various Transport Tasks: The Cool Liner’s additional features, such as electronic air suspension and Dynamic Wheel Base Control (DWC), make it adaptable for various transport scenarios. These innovations optimize loading, unloading, and cornering performance, ensuring efficiency in every stage of transportation.

Future-Ready Refrigeration Solutions

KRONE’s eCool Liner sets a new standard for sustainable and versatile refrigerated transport. Whether for urban deliveries or long-haul logistics, the Cool Liner offers a future-proof solution that addresses the growing need for environmentally friendly transportation, without compromising on performance or efficiency.
