LAUDA DR. R. WOBSER GMBH & CO. has launched the Integral IN 2040 XTW, its first process thermostat utilizing CO₂ as a natural refrigerant. This development marks a milestone in the company’s transition toward environmentally friendly temperature control solutions. The new model expands LAUDA’s portfolio of systems using natural refrigerants such as carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons, aligning with global sustainability efforts.
Approximately 95% of CO₂ emissions from temperature control equipment occur during operation. To address this, LAUDA prioritizes energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions through electronic cooling control, speed-controlled compressors, and natural refrigerants. The company has been shifting its product range towards CO₂ (R744), propane (R290), and ethane (R170) in response to evolving environmental regulations.
Dr. Marc Stricker, Managing Director of LAUDA, states:
“The switch to sustainable refrigerants not only fulfills current regulatory requirements, but it also part of our commitment to environmentally friendly temperature control technology.”
The Integral XT series utilizes a flow principle with a cold oil blanket, allowing operation over a broad temperature range. The electronically controlled, magnetically coupled pump adapts to pressure-sensitive applications and high hydraulic resistance.
