LG Electronics showcased compressor solutions engineered for the Indian market at ACREX 2026, held from March 12-14 in India. The company presented locally manufactured rotary and reciprocating compressors for residential air conditioners and refrigerators, as well as compressors for commercial HVAC applications. The lineup was positioned to support India’s move toward higher energy-efficiency standards and inverter-based systems.
In the Residential HVAC zone, LG highlighted new rotary compressor solutions for the 1- to 2-ton range (approx. 3.5 to 7.0 kW), a major segment of India’s residential air-conditioning market. The compressors were engineered for inverter-driven residential systems and were designed to balance energy efficiency and cost competitiveness in line with local market requirements.
In the Refrigeration zone, LG presented high-efficiency, compact compressor platforms for refrigerator applications. The lineup included new fixed-speed and inverter reciprocating compressors for the 150- to 200-liter segment (approx. 5.3 to 7.1 cubic feet), designed for reliable operation under local conditions.
In the Commercial HVAC zone, LG featured its compressor portfolio for commercial applications, including scroll compressors with capacities of up to 27 tons (approx. 95 kW). The company said its product development and production systems were aligned with local requirements, supporting a scalable range for both residential and commercial applications.
LG said the rotary and reciprocating compressors displayed at the exhibition were manufactured in India, supporting domestic supply for local manufacturers under the “Make in India” initiative. The company said it operated a production facility in Noida and was building a new plant in Sri City, scheduled to begin operations in 2027.
“India is one of our most important markets, and we are proud to contribute our innovation and expertise in support of the nation’s ‘Make in India’ initiative,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “By providing local partners with advanced components manufactured in India, we aim to support the transition to more energy-efficient products while strengthening long-term collaboration.”
