New Hussmann Smart Exchange Locker Delivers Flexibility and Convenience to E-Commerce Programs

Hussmann Corporation, a Panasonic company, today announced the introduction of the Smart Exchange Locker. The self-service, secure Smart Exchange Locker provides food retailers with a flexible option for omni-channel strategies.

Built with Hussmann’s refrigeration expertise, Smart Exchange provides shoppers with the convenience they desire and the ability to pick up their goods at a time and location that works for them. Smart Exchange is designed to meet changing customer needs and is flexible enough to be stationed either indoors or outdoors. Modules are available in frozen, refrigerated, and ambient temperatures to support the full grocery store assortment.

Smart Exchange is regulatory compliant to UL and NSF standards and meets Department of Energy (DOE) energy efficiency requirements.

Ensuring food integrity and maintaining safe product temperatures were paramount in the development of Smart Exchange. No other locker today provides the North American market a combined 100-plus years of refrigeration expertise and food retailing knowledge in a single offering, - said Jessica Moore, Sr. Product Leader.

Smart Exchange offers another way for retailers to satisfy online grocery orders, while emphasizing shopper convenience. Lockers provide retailers with the ability to install lockers outside the store or at non-traditional locations, such as apartment complexes, transit stations, and universities.

Smart Exchange features a scalable and supported software platform with a front- and back-end integration suite designed to augment e-commerce strategies and maintain a seamless end-user experience. The front-end application provides shoppers and order fulfillment specialists with a familiar touch screen look and feel. Smart Exchange provides secure access to drop off and retrieve orders via PIN or QR code. And help is always available with Hussmann’s unparalleled service network.
