Profroid Launches QuietCO2OL

Profroid’s new QuietCO2OL will help keep small businesses quiet and cool, naturally. Introduced at EuroShop, the Quiet CO2OL condensing unit uses the natural refrigerant carbon dioxide (CO2), which has a Global Warming Potential of one, and a quiet and compact footprint that strikes the right balance between performance and sustainability. Profroid, a leading European manufacturer of refrigeration equipment for industrial and commercial applications, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. “QuietCO2OL is an innovative and flexible solution aimed at helping smaller businesses reduce their carbon footprint, noise emissions and energy usage in a more serviceable package,” said Greg Deldicque, vice president and general manager, Mechanical Systems, Profroid. Available in four different sizes covering a comprehensive capacity range for low and medium temperatures, the QuietCO2OL unit uses environmentally sustainable CO2 refrigerant that emits no additional greenhouse gases and is not affected by EU F-gas regulations. Equipped with an inverter-drive compressor, the QuietCO2OL unit is ideal for small businesses with variable capacity applications such as food retail C-stores, petrol stations, restaurants, caterers and large kitchens. The QuietCO2OL unit’s rotary compressor with low vibration transmission results in a low noise level, measured as low as 37 dB(A) at 10 meters. The unit is flexible and can easily be connected to multiple evaporators. Installers and service technicians will appreciate its optimized serviceability with easy access to all components. The QuietCO2OL unit is also available in a multi-compressor version, ideal for larger convenience stores. Covering applications from 10 to 40 kilowatts, the multi-temperature unit can run from two to five rotary CO2 hermetic compressors and can simultaneously manage the refrigeration, air conditioning and heating needs of a convenience store. “Our multi-compressor version is a complete outdoor ’integral’ CO2 solution for air conditioning, heating and refrigeration,” says Guillaume Burvingt, product management director, Profroid.   Read More
