RefPlus Introduces ONS Series of Outdoor CO2 Condensing Units
RefPlus has unveiled its ONS Series, a line of outdoor CO2 condensing units that feature air-cooled, vertical discharge designs equipped with ultra-quiet, high-efficiency fans. Part of the Evolution Series, these industrial-grade units are offered in various sizes to cater to the cooling needs of different equipment and CO2 systems using evaporators.

These factory-assembled units include an air-cooled gas cooler and a choice of semi-hermetic, heavy-duty compressors from Bitzer, Copeland, or Dorin, complete with frequency variators and interconnecting pipework. Additional features include a high-pressure CO2 receiver, heat exchangers, optional heat reclaims, filter driers, oil tank/separator, shut-off valves, and related controls. Constructed from heavy-gauge galvanized or painted steel, the units are designed to optimize energy efficiency, reliability, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness. They come with low-noise, 31.5-inch (800mm) industrial fans to enhance operational quietness.

Each ONS Series condensing unit is equipped with a control box and wiring diagram tailored to customer specifications, with electronic controls providing comprehensive operational oversight.

Designed for All-inclusive CO2 Systems

These CO2 condensing units are pre-assembled for easy incorporation into commercial and industrial walk-in coolers and freezers. They strike an ideal balance between capacity, cost-effectiveness, and reliability, offering superior energy efficiency compared to other CO2 or traditional refrigeration options. The units feature precise line sizing to minimize pressure losses and enhance performance, and their rooftop compressors reduce the required mechanical room size and line length.

High Operating Pressures

To accommodate varying market conditions, the ONS Series units are engineered for a maximum working pressure (MWP) of 1740 Psig/120 bar on the high side and 1305 Psig/90 bar on the low side.

Proven Reliability

Subjected to rigorous real-condition testing, the RefPlus CO2 units ensure compatibility and reliability in CO2 applications, making them a robust choice for refrigeration needs.

Advanced Controls and Communication

Each unit is managed by a sophisticated PLC controller designed specifically for transcritical CO2 condensing units. The controller supports remote communication, providing live status updates and graphical operational views via an RS485 serial interface, facilitating seamless integration with supervisory systems.
