Smardt has introduced its new ECO AeroMod platform, a modular air-cooled chiller system designed to provide scalable performance and flexible installation options. The launch marks Smardt’s expansion beyond its traditional oil-free centrifugal chillers, offering a solution that uses conventional compressor technologies.
The AeroMod platform is part of the new Smardt ECO line—standing for Efficient, Conventional, and Optimized—focused on delivering high performance in commercial and industrial building applications. Each module is available in 30- or 40-ton capacities and can be linked in configurations of up to 10 units, reaching a total of 400 tons.
The system uses R-454B refrigerant and is equipped with dual variable-speed scroll compressors per unit. EC fans with advanced airflow control and all-aluminum microchannel condenser coils are also included. The design supports redundancy with up to 20 compressors across 10 modules and enables turndown to less than 2% of full capacity.
AeroMod features a compact, edge-to-edge modular design with internal piping headers, allowing units to connect without requiring clearance between them. This enables simplified phasing and expansion. A single unit can reduce capacity down to 15%, with a full configuration offering turndown below 2% for efficient performance at low load conditions.
The platform includes a 7-inch touchscreen interface and integrates with major building automation systems. Installation is supported by single-point power and water connections to minimize setup time.
"The AeroMod gives owners and operators the flexibility to scale cooling capacity without compromising on space or efficiency," said Changiz Tolouee, Executive Vice President of Technology & Product Development at Smardt.
The Smardt ECO AeroMod is currently available across North America.
