Toshiba Carrier to Expand ‘Heatcle Air’ Total Heat Exchanger Series in Japan

Toshiba Carrier Corporation (TCC) will expand its Heatcle Air light commercial total heat exchanger lineup in Japan with nine new models, which will be launched in September in response to growing consumer demand. These basic ceiling type models that feature a micro control unit help enhance indoor air quality and provide high-quality ventilation solutions with higher energy efficiency and design flexibility.

Key features of the new models include:

1) High-efficiency AC motor

- Lower power consumption compared to the legacy product with AC motor.
- Automated air ventilation volume control within the range of 35 to 120% of the rated air volume and as a result makes the calculation of air ventilation volume easier.
- Continuously variable control of static pressure and air volume properties with fixed power control within the range of 5 to 100% of peak power, which enables fine-tuning of air volume for enhanced energy efficiency and easy adjustment after installation.

2) Higher external static pressure compared to legacy product

- Sufficient air flow capacity secured even in case of a long duct, resulting in enhanced design flexibility and easier installation.
- Enhanced capability of attaining higher air ventilation volume to address post-pandemic needs.

3) Optional CO2 and PM2.5 sensor

- Detecting and monitoring CO2 and PM2.5 values displayed on a screen panel of remote control.
- Automated ventilation control according to the CO2 and/or PM2.5 density, which is also available during operation with fixed air ventilation volume mode.

4) Micro control unit for centralized control

- Customers to build a centralized control system that covers the Heatcle Air solutions and Toshiba SMMS-u Series variable refrigeration flow (VRF) system.
