Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, announced the new Sintesis Advantage chillers and heat pumps, its latest additions to the Sintesis portfolio of air-cooled chillers. With the introduction of the Sintesis Advantage range, Trane now offers the most versatile chiller portfolio in the industry featuring scroll, screw and high-speed centrifugal technologies.
The new Sintesis Advantage air-cooled scroll chillers are now available across Europe, Middle East and Africa in capacities ranging from 300 to 700 kilowatts (kW) and capability to provide all-year cooling in ambient temperatures from negative 20 up to 52 degrees Celsius. Compact design with footprint reduced by 22 percent versus the previous generation, allows for a quick and easy installation making the Trane Sintesis Advantage particularly suited to industrial and process applications.
“Trane developed the Sintesis Advantage chillers and heat pumps to help building owners minimise their total cost of ownership while providingexceptional performances, reliability and operational flexibility,” said Louis Rompre, unitary portfolio manager at Trane in Europe. ”We want our customers to find the perfect solution in this portfolio, one that will meet their particular needs and requirements of their building, their climate and budget. All packaged in acompact design.”
The Sintesis Advantage offers three different levels of efficiency to ensure a system minimizing the total cost of ownership and tailored to customer’s specific application, whether it requires high-efficiency at full load, part loador both. Additionally to ensure the maximum desired acoustic comfort, the new range offers three different levels of noise attenuation.
This flexible design givesthe building owners and facility managersthe opportunity to work with various energy efficiency and acoustic configurations and tailor the unit to deliver their desired outcome, whether their focus is on energy savings or on greater comfort in noise-sensitive areas.
The key features of the new Trane Sintesis Advantage range include:
- Scroll air-cooled cooling and reversible heat pump technologies for sustainable cooling and heating.
- Three efficiency levels with the Sintesis Advantage XE model reaching Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 3.41 and European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ESEER) of 4.74.
- Free cooling option to lower operating costs of the chiller in cold ambient temperatures.
- Total or partial heat recovery options to re-use the waste heat generated during the cooling. Units equipped with the heat recovery option can produce chilled and hot water simultaneously.
- Electronically Commutated (EC) fan motors to deliver higher performance with optimized airflow.
- Optimized diffuser converts dynamic airflow into static pressure and reduces exit losses, allowing for reduced fan speedswithout affecting airflow. Lower speeds lead to lower energy consumption, especially at part load conditions.
- Night Noise Setback, a sound attenuation option, provides an additional low-noise operation profile. The sound level of the chiller is reduced and ensures exceptional acoustic comfort without compromising efficiency when loads are increased.
All units in the Trane Sintesis Advantage portfolio are compliant with all applicable European Ecodesign Regulations under the Energy-related Products (ErP) framework Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament.
