Trane Launches Aries N Propane Chillers

Trane announced its new Aries N air-to-water chillers. Trane Aries N is a new generation of chillers, designed to feature natural refrigerant and to present a valuable alternative for old “high GWP” (global warming potential) HFC or NH3 chillers in comfort and process installations. These state-of-the-art chillers use R-290 (propane) natural refrigerant, providing excellent thermodynamic and energy efficiency capabilities in cooling capacities from 175 kW to 335 kW.

“Trane's commitment to delivering breakthrough products leading with sustainability continues with Aries N chillers,” said Louis Rompre, portfolio leader for Trane in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. ”As climate and sustainability become top priorities in societal and business trends, and regulations on fluorinated refrigerants become stricter, the Aries N chillers offer a much-needed solution. With no ozone depletion potential and negligible impact on global warming, these solutions raise the bar in technical capability and sustainability in a wide range of applications."

R-290 is a non-toxic, natural refrigerant with a direct global warming potential of 0,02  and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). In addition, there are also increasing tax benefits from choosing R-290. Many countries offer national incentives and R-290 is currently exempt from the fluorinated refrigerant phase-down program as regulated by the EU authorities. The Trane Aries N allows customers to further reduce both direct and indirect emissions by using less refrigerant charge per kilowatt of cooling capacity in combination with higher seasonal efficiencies.

New Trane Aries N chillers complement the company’s broad portfolio of comfort and process solutions with ultra-low GWP refrigerants like R-1234ze and R-1233zd(E) units, backed by Trane's dedicated and highly qualified service teams. Featuring dual circuit design, EC fans, electronic expansion valves, and semi-hermetic inverter-driven compressors ensuring exceptional efficiency across varying cooling demands. Additionally, customers can choose from optional features such as Partial Heat Recovery and Super Low Noise functionality.

The Aries N chillers are well suited for industrial process cooling applications and serve as an excellent choice for comfort cooling in commercial HVAC systems. They are particularly beneficial for industrial processes requiring chilled water for cooling down, for example food and beverage, or pharmaceutical, production and storage. Additionally, HVAC consultants, design contractors, and facility managers seeking comfort cooling solutions will find Aries N chillers highly advantageous.
