Williams upgrades Jade counters and cabinets for energy efficiency and practicality

Williams has introduced updated versions of its Jade counters and cabinets, enhancing energy efficiency while adding several practical features for commercial kitchen use.

The redesigned Jade range includes both refrigerated counters and upright cabinets, now featuring a variety of components aimed at reducing energy consumption. A key addition is the updated CoolSmart controller, which only operates the system when needed by monitoring internal temperatures. It includes a new IP55-rated capacitive touchscreen that is water- and dust-resistant, offering clear visuals with a bright white temperature display.

According to Malcolm Harling, sales and marketing director at Williams, “The new Jade range is a sustainable, future-proof refrigeration solution. They deliver market-leading energy figures and, like all Williams products, they’re built to last.”

The updated Jade counters with doors now carry an A+ energy rating and record the lowest kWh usage in their class. Despite a smaller footprint, the usable capacity has been maintained. The two-door model holds up to 186 litres (49.1 US gal) and the three-door version provides 280 litres (74.0 US gal), which is above average for similar-sized models.

To improve usability in compact kitchens, the counters feature a front-breathing refrigeration system, allowing them to be installed flush against walls. Noise output has also been reduced significantly - the standard refrigerated model HJC3 operates at 50 dBA, compared to 63 dBA in the previous version.

The counters are compatible with multiple configuration options, such as raised pan holders, drawers in banks of two or three, and various counter heights. Available in two-, three-, and four-door versions, they offer internal capacities of 317 litres (83.7 US gal), 469 litres (123.9 US gal), and 622 litres (164.3 US gal) respectively. All versions support 1/1 GN shelving.

Energy efficiency has also been improved across the Jade cabinet range. For example, the single-door HJ1 model now carries an A energy grade. Both cabinets and counters in the Jade range use a natural refrigerant with low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP).

All models have been tested to Climate Class 5 and can operate in ambient temperatures up to 43°C (109.4°F). Features such as an “easy grab” door handle, removable shelving and racking, and durable construction enhance daily usability and maintenance.
