ABRAVA MG hosts sector outlook event in Brazil

ABRAVA’s Minas Gerais regional unit held a special edition of its Panorama Setorial on March 17, bringing together more than 50 engineers, business owners, company representatives and specialists from Brazil’s air conditioning and refrigeration sector. The association projects sector revenue of R$ 55.62 billion in 2026.

Held as part of the regional unit’s strategic actions for 2026, the meeting focused on the current economic scenario, sector trends, and regional market opportunities and challenges in Minas Gerais. ABRAVA said the event also aimed to support knowledge sharing, technical exchange and networking among companies and professionals.

The institutional opening featured representatives from the Minas Gerais regional leadership and member companies, who highlighted the role of the initiative in strengthening relationships across the sector and expanding access to qualified information. Remer Olavo, director of the regional unit and director of Comis Engenharia, said: “The event reinforced the role of the ABRAVA regional unit as a representative entity in Minas Gerais. Our goal is to work not only in the dissemination of knowledge, but especially in supporting the development of the HVACR sector.”

Engineer Francisco Pimenta of Climatizar Engenharia opened the program with a presentation on ABRAVA’s scope of activity, operational structure and the themes emphasized by the current management: decarbonization, indoor air quality and food safety. According to Pimenta, “It is important to make everyone aware of the new direction ABRAVA is taking, due to the newly elected board, with the respective directorates and executive positions defined, indicating a noticeable change in the entity’s work philosophy.”

One of the main sessions was delivered by ABRAVA’s economist, who presented an analysis of the sector’s economic scenario, including opportunities and challenges at national level with a focus on Minas Gerais. According to the presentation, the state accounts for 6% of all formal jobs in the sector, concentrated in installation and maintenance.

The program also included technical presentations by João Aureliano of Daikin, on market changes, recent results and future perspectives, and Ricardo Facuri of Traydus, on air treatment solutions and opportunities in Brazil. The event closed with a networking lunch and had sponsorship from Daikin and Traydus, with co-sponsorship from ASVAC, Total Ar and TROX Brasil.
