AEFYT held its Technical Conference, with a follow-up of more than a hundred people. All of them are representatives of an industry that, in recent months, has proven essential to society and will be crucial to ending the pandemic. “Our companies in the refrigeration sector are prepared to be able to supply equipment that can preserve the vaccines against Covid-19 at the temperatures that are needed, even between -70 and -80 ° C. Once again, the cold sector will once again be essential and is committed to this objective ”, said Roberto Solsona, president of the Association at the opening of the Conference.
In addition, Solsona thanked "the effort and commitment that your companies and the people who compose them have shown and demonstrate every day during this health crisis" and has underlined the importance of continuing to train refrigeration technicians because "our companies must add value to through knowledge so that the facilities are better, more efficient and environmentally sustainable ”.
The Conference has been developed through an open session with a single link in which there have been keynote talks on the hottest topics in the cold sector. “Beyond the presentations, under the slogan #SomosEsenciales, we have chosen to value the people of our companies, our operations, our refrigerators, our technical departments ... who are the ones who have been and are working for and for the refrigeration chain during this pandemic ”, said Susana Rodríguez, vice president of AEFYT and general director of Friex. For her part, Carlos Momplet, CEO of Eliwell Ibérica and vice president of the Association in charge of closing the Conference, highlighted the role of associationism "Associations must seek tools that enhance the virtues of SMEs in the cold sector" and the essential role of refrigeration “our companies contribute to the well-being and health of the population”.
Innovation, disruptive technologies and refrigerants
Throughout the lectures, given by leading companies of AEFYT in cold technologies, the wide range of refrigerants with low global warming potential that currently exist, such as HFO-A2L in applications for supermarkets, has been discussed. taught by José Pedro Garcia (Chemours), and RS-51 (R-470B), which is presented as an alternative to R404A / R-448A / R-449A, as explained by Guillermo González (Gas Servei). A2L refrigerants have also been the subject of analysis by José García (Kimikal) in a presentation on the use, handling and loading of this type of fluids.
The digitization of the refrigeration industry has played a leading role thanks to the interventions of Isidro Villarroya (Automatiza) on the digital transformation of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry and of Andreina Figuera (Carel) on disruptive technologies in refrigeration systems Industry 4.0. The commitment to innovation has also been reflected in the advice offered by Fernando Boned (Artica) on the public support instruments available to companies to advance in this regard.
Finally, Mauricio Guiliani (Intarcon) has offered a look at the current moment with a presentation on prevention of Covid-19 transmission in refrigeration facilities in sensitive industries, such as meat. Guiliani has highlighted the need to carry out a good analysis of the conditions of temperature, humidity and air renewal to be able to detect and avoid possible infections by Covid-19.
