AIRAH’S Big Data and Analytics Forum

Many events planned for this year have adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic by moving to virtual formats. Yet few seem as uniquely suited to the online world as AIRAH’s Big Data and Analytics Forum, slated for August 6.
After all, the Forum focuses exclusively on the digital world, and explores how we can use big data and analytics to proactively control and optimise HVAC&R systems in buildings.
“AIRAH’s Big Data and Analytics Forum 2020 will be a live-streamed half-day event on August 6,” says AIRAH CEO Tony Gleeson, M.AIRAH. “It is a chance to hear from industry leaders as we break down what big data is and how we, as an industry, can improve the built environment’s operational
efficiencies.”
Keynote speaker Amber Keogh from Hendy will present on a topic at the front of mind right now: prioritising health and wellbeing within the built environment post-COVID-19.
“As Keogh will show, the spotlight on commercial building operators to prioritise health and wellbeing as a key metric of performance signals a significant shift in the market,” says AIRAH’s Education and Technical Services Manager Brendan Pejkovic. “HVAC&R is a key piece of this puzzle, along with a raft of other solutions determinant on big data and analytics. Keogh will explore how solutions providers can pivot their value proposition to remain competitive.”
Also at the half-day Forum, Gareth Stewart will present a case study of the digital twin created by Willow for Investa Property Group’s Sixty Martin Place, Sydney.
A digital twin can be defined as an evolving digital profile of an asset or a bridge between the physical and digital world, which collects and tracks behaviour over time and utilises this data to optimise asset performance. This presentation will cover introductory content on digital twins and their uses, along with a deep dive into how Willow created a digital twin of this A-grade commercial asset.
Ura Sarfejoo, M.AIRAH, will look at how to make HVAC&R visible by employing digital technologies.
“Historically, we’ve provided services to building and facility managers to assist with asset maintenance, management, energy and sustainability, while leaving occupant experience and tenant management largely to others,” says Sarfejoo.
“Recent developments in digital solutions, artificial intelligence and IT/OT integration have enabled our industry to start transitioning from being facilities-centric to becoming people-centric.”
