ASHRAE is accepting abstract submissions for its 2027 Winter Conference, scheduled for January 23-27, 2027, in Chicago, Illinois. Abstracts of 400 words or less are due May 27, 2026. If accepted, final conference papers of up to eight pages are due September 2, 2026.
The technical program will include tracks on Residential HVAC Research and Demonstration; Thermal Network Systems and Energy Storage; Nexus of Real and Artificial Intelligence; Decarbonization Retrofits; Research Summit; Refrigerants and Refrigeration; Fundamentals and Applications; and HVAC&R Systems and Equipment.
ASHRAE said accepted papers will be considered for publication in Science and Technology for the Built Environment, its research journal. The Research Summit track also includes a partnership with the archival journal.
“Our technical program explores the full breadth of innovation across the HVAC&R industry, including thermal network modeling, energy storage and AI-supported building operations,” said Li Song, Technical Conference Chair. “Additionally, the conference highlights the growing importance of residential HVAC research through real world performance studies, advanced heat pump technologies, smart controls, and strategies that enhance comfort, resilience and energy efficiency across diverse housing types.”
