Australia’s AMCA Conference 2025 focuses on resilience and AI in HVAC

The 2025 AMCA National Conference was held from 29 September to 2 October at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort in Queensland, Australia. Under the theme EVOLVE, the event brought together over 200 participants, including more than 100 delegates, highlighting strong industry engagement.

The business program spanned two days and featured presentations on leadership, AI integration, refrigerant trends, and sustainability. Keynote speakers included former Australian Army Major Matina Jewell, AI strategist Glen Maguire, and Ari Grimekis of Mitsubishi Electric, who addressed the future of refrigerants and VRF technologies in the Australian HVAC sector. The conference also included discussions on organisational design, unfair contracts, and inclusive workforce initiatives.

Networking events were hosted across three evenings, including a welcome dinner at Dreamworld, a superyacht cocktail cruise supported by Victaulic, and a gala dinner backed by Milwaukee. The final night featured live performances and a charity auction supporting The Kids’ Cancer Project, raising a record AUD 150,000 (approx. USD 95,000).

AMCA Vice-President Andrew Johnson raised AUD 36,000 (approx. USD 23,000) by agreeing to shave his head as part of the fundraiser.

The event was supported by Platinum Partner Victaulic, Gold Partners Reece HVAC and Milwaukee, Silver Partner Windsor Management Insurance Brokers, and other sponsors including Fujitsu and Hydroflow Australia.
