Vector 8200 and next-gen Vector eCool bring energy flexibility and zero-emissions capabilities.
Carrier Transicold is showcasing major enhancements to its electric transport refrigeration unit (TRU) lineup at the 2025 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California. As part of Carrier Global Corporation, the company aims to help fleets reduce emissions, noise, and operating costs associated with traditional diesel-powered refrigeration.
The new Vector 8200 is a fully electric, engineless TRU designed for single or multi-temperature trailer storage. It operates using electricity from the grid or external sources and can dynamically adjust its power draw based on available supply. The unit supports four remote evaporator options, enabling it to cool one-, two-, or three-compartment trailers.
Also on display is the next-generation Vector eCool system, which features a redesigned power management architecture for enhanced energy efficiency. The system integrates regenerative braking via in-wheel electric motors, producing up to 160 kWh of peak power. This energy can directly power the TRU or charge a 45-kWh onboard battery. According to Carrier Transicold, Vector eCool remains the only all-electric refrigerated trailer system in North America capable of full energy regeneration while in motion.
The full eCool product family will be presented, including the Supra eCool TRUs for medium-duty trucks and the compact Neos 200e system for small urban delivery vehicles. Carrier Transicold will also highlight its Lynx Fleet telematics platform, which offers real-time analytics and remote diagnostics across both diesel and electric units.
“These innovations reflect our commitment to providing sustainable, high-performance solutions for cold chain logistics,” said Alice DeBiasio, Vice President and General Manager, Truck Trailer Americas & Digital Solutions, Carrier Transicold. “We’re enabling fleets to reduce emissions while meeting demanding operational needs.”
Carrier Transicold is exhibiting at Booth 6767 during the ACT Expo, which runs from April 28 to May 1.
