Embraco, a brand of Nidec Global Appliance, will introduce its new scroll compressor portfolio for the first time in North America at AHR Expo Mexico 2025, held from September 23 to 25 at CINTERMEX, Monterrey. This launch marks Embraco’s entry into the heating and air-conditioning segments, expanding its presence across the full HVAC&R market.
The scroll portfolio is part of Embraco’s strategy following Nidec Global Appliance’s acquisition of scroll compressor manufacturer Xecom. The line covers applications such as cold rooms, heat pumps, rooftop chillers, packaged units, and central ducted air conditioners, with capacities ranging from 1.2 HP to 35 HP.
“The introduction of our new scroll portfolio is a big step for Embraco, and North America is an important market in our growth strategy for this product line,” said Alessandro Pedrazzi, Head of Marketing, Engineering, and Sales of Nidec Scroll Technology at Nidec Global Appliance.
Embraco will also showcase its latest innovations in commercial refrigeration. Highlights include the VLT variable-speed compressor, designed for commercial refrigerators and freezers, offering compact size, low noise, and high energy efficiency. Also featured is the Embraco Sync it All portfolio, combining the Sync controller, Air fan, YouControl interface, and variable speed compressors to enhance system performance and accelerate development.
Additional technologies on display include the EMR compressor, a universal replacement solution for the aftermarket, and the EDP condensing unit, developed for reach-in and under-counter food service equipment. The EDP unit is compact and features a removable evaporative drain pan and hot loop for effective defrost water evaporation.
“In the booth dedicated to refrigeration solutions, we reinforce our positioning as a complete solutions provider for all customers’ needs in the commercial and residential cold chains,” said Michel Moreira, Business Director for Commercial Appliances in the NAR region at Nidec Global Appliance.
Embraco will also highlight its local manufacturing capabilities in Apodaca, Mexico, where it produces compressors, electronically commutated fans, and EDP condensing units. Moreira noted that local production enhances responsiveness and reduces lead times for OEMs and aftermarket partners.
