Green Cooling Initiative Bolsters Thai Refrigeration Sector Skills
The Green Cooling Initiative (GCI) III, implemented by GIZ Proklima and financed by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), is driving a transformative approach to refrigeration technology by enhancing the skills of technicians in both the public and private sectors. Their joint effort aims to minimize environmental impact through advanced refrigeration techniques.

Their primary focus is on promoting environmentally friendly natural refrigerants. This is achieved by developing a comprehensive curriculum and providing skill-upgrading training for refrigeration technicians. A significant aspect of this initiative is the training and certification program, which includes an 18-hour course designed to qualify participants as Skill Standard Examiners for Air Conditioning Technicians at Level 2.

The initiative's comprehensive training program not only boosts the technical prowess of refrigeration technicians but also establishes personnel capable of maintaining high standards in skill assessments. This effort is expected to improve the quality of testing and training across Thailand, positioning the country as a leader in sustainable refrigeration technology.
