The Call for Abstracts is open for the 2nd IIR International Conference on Refrigeration Adapting to Rising Temperatures, known as Adaptation 2027. Organisers are inviting abstracts on case studies, innovations, research and expert insights at the intersection of refrigeration technology and climate adaptation.
Contributions should align with three themes: Managing Risk; Environmental, Social and Governance; and The Future Landscape of RACHP. Abstract submission opened on 16 June 2026, with a closing date of 10 August 2026. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance on 10 September 2026.
Full papers are due on 15 October 2026. Authors will be informed of full paper acceptance on 5 November 2026, and final manuscripts with required revisions must be submitted by 1 December 2026.
The conference will take place from 8 to 10 March 2027 at Austin Court, Birmingham, and will be organised by the Institute of Refrigeration. The event will include two days of presentations, workshops and a short course, followed by one day of topical conference tours.
The programme will focus in part on technical recommendations in the new Refrigeration Design Code for Changing Ambient, due for publication this summer. The Code has been jointly developed by the IOR and CIBSE, with contributions from IMechE, FETA and CCF.
Adaptation 2027 will examine adaptation strategies from around the world and bring together international experts on refrigeration and climate adaptation. Delegates can expect parallel streams with research presentations, technical case studies, interactive workshops and short courses.
