The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) will host the 2025 World Refrigeration Day event on June 18 in Paris. The gathering will bring together representatives from governments, industry, academia, and international organisations to highlight the role of refrigeration and heat pump technologies in supporting human well-being, animal welfare, and climate sustainability.
The event marks one year since the IIR adopted its 2024–2028 strategy and aims to promote knowledge exchange and sector collaboration. Discussions will focus on how refrigeration systems contribute to public health and food safety through cold chains, as well as their role in decarbonising the heating sector and enhancing energy security.
A key feature of the event is a historical exhibition on the evolution of refrigeration and the role of the IIR since its foundation in 1908. The exhibit will showcase archival documents, publications, and profiles of key figures in the sector’s development.
The event is by invitation only.
