Johnson Controls launches 44-city Innovation Studio tour

Johnson Controls has launched a traveling Innovation Studio at MCE 2026 in Italy, starting a 44-city tour across Europe. The mobile showcase is designed to bring the company’s HVAC, decarbonization and mission critical building technologies directly to customers, partners, students and other stakeholders as they address energy security, affordability and infrastructure challenges.

The tour will present an integrated portfolio that includes the YORK YK HT two-stage economized centrifugal chiller for data centers and large industrial, pharmaceutical and healthcare campuses. According to Johnson Controls, the unit has a footprint nearly 30% smaller than comparable systems and can reduce dry cooler requirements by up to 60%. The company will also show the YORK YVAM air-cooled magnetic bearing chiller for hyperscale and colocation data centers, operating from 29°C to 55°C (84.2°F to 131°F) ambient temperatures and producing chilled water between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).

Digital building technologies on display include the OpenBlue platform for monitoring, analytics and continuous performance improvement, with energy savings of up to 10% and 67% lower chiller maintenance costs, according to the company. Johnson Controls will also present its Metasys Building Automation System, which integrates HVAC, lighting, fire and security systems and supports up to 1,000 IP devices per server.

Johnson Controls said its technologies are already delivering measured results in Europe, including data centre cooling systems that can achieve a 40% reduction in energy consumption with zero on-site water use and an ultra low GWP refrigerant. The company also cited a 52% reduction in energy use at a UK manufacturing plant, an 8% efficiency gain at a UK data centre, and a 45% reduction in energy consumption at its Cork campus.

“Across Europe, customers are navigating some of the most complex energy security and affordability challenges in decades, pressures that directly affect how people live, work and deliver essential services,” said Richard Lek, president, EMEA, Johnson Controls. “By bringing the full breadth of our critical technologies directly to customers, we’re showing how Johnson Controls helps the systems inside Europe’s most important facilities become more resilient, efficient and adaptable for the long term.”
