At IFA 2025, Midea presented a range of sustainable HVAC solutions under its “GREEN VISION, BLUE FUTURE” philosophy, highlighting its long-term commitment to low-carbon technologies and environmental responsibility.
Central to the presentation were Midea’s R290-based systems. The company, which launched the world’s first UN-backed R290 demo production line in 2010, now operates 12 such lines with a combined annual capacity of 6.4 million units. These systems are supported by real-world applications that contribute to global carbon reduction. Backed by more than 10,000 R&D experts and 42 pilot labs, Midea offers a comprehensive R290 product portfolio.
One highlight was the H-Pack indoor hybrid heat pump developed by Midea’s European R&D team. Using R290 refrigerant, the compact unit operates without an outdoor component and integrates with gas boilers to maintain heating performance even in cold climates.
The company also unveiled Raynor, its flagship low-temperature air-to-air heat pump. With an A+++ energy rating and a seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) of 5.1, Raynor is engineered for Nordic conditions, functioning at temperatures as low as -40°C. It maintains a full 5.0 kW heating output at -25°C and peaks at 8.0 kW. Its design features antifreeze and anti-corrosion technologies, including Prime Guard Hyper Grapfins and Flash Defrost ceramic ball bearings. The unit has received both the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award. During IFA, it was also recognized with the Excellent Heating Technology Innovation Gold Award.
Midea also introduced Solstice, an AI-driven air conditioner featuring a 180° rotatable wind deflector and ECOMASTER, the company’s new AI engine. Trained on billions of data points, ECOMASTER anticipates environmental changes and adjusts energy use accordingly, maintaining temperature within ±0.3°C while reducing energy consumption by over 30%.
Midea announced plans to integrate Microsoft Azure’s AI voice assistant to enable natural voice control in 145 languages, aiming to further enhance user experience through intelligent comfort solutions.
