The Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) successfully conducted a four-day online training on Efficient Cooling Systems in December 2024. The program, part of the Cool Up initiative’s capacity-building activities, followed the PA-CEMP (Pan Arab Certified Energy Management Professionals) curriculum developed by RCREEE.
Held on December 9th, 12th, 16th, and 19th, the training gathered 27 engineers from Lebanon. Experts from RCREEE led the sessions, focusing on energy management, heating and cooling systems, and energy efficiency. The program concluded with an evaluation exam on December 23rd, and participants who completed the course received certificates of attendance.
The training covered key topics, including energy basics and efficiency, cooling systems and cycles, heat transfer, thermal energy management, energy audits, measurement and verification, and national policies in Lebanon. The PA-CEMP curriculum provided participants with standardized knowledge to support decision-making in cooling system selection, design, and operation.
Representatives from companies and organizations such as RAHI&CO, Dar, Powertech SAL, TECMO, SAAB RDS, COMO FMS, GCE, YYReGen, RJR, INJAZ Lebanon, R8 Tech, NOW Energy Hub, Takom Energy, Manoukian EPOS, Syen, Grfn, Pharmaline, Tekmek Group, IPT Powertech, Arina Energy, and the Ministry of Industry took part in the training.
The program received positive feedback, and further training sessions are planned for 2025, with an in-person format to enhance the learning experience.
