Outlook 2020 will now be held as a virtual event

AIRAH has announced that the flagship event of its Centenary year, Outlook 2020, will now be held as a virtual event. The International HVAC&R Conference and Awards Gala will be live-streamed from 9am–5.30pm (AEDT) on November 10.
This year’s keynotes include Professor Lidia Morawska, Deb Noller and Chris Nunn.
“In my time with AIRAH I can’t recall a higher calibre rollcall of speakers for one of our conferences,” says AIRAH CEO Tony Gleeson, M.AIRAH.“We’re thrilled to be hosting such an array of voices, and looking forward to reaching as wide an audience as possible.”
Professor Morawska is director of the International Laboratory for Air Quality and Health (ILAQH) at Queensland University of Technology, which is a Collaborating Centre of the World Health Organization (WHO) on research and training in the field of air quality and health. A recipient of numerous scientific awards, Professor Morawska has authored more than 800 journal papers, book chapters and refereed conference papers.
Most recently, Professor Morawska has been active in highlighting the role airborne transmission plays in spreading COVID-19. Earlier this year, Morawska led an appeal by 239 renowned international scientists to the WHO to recognise and mitigate airborne transmission of COVID-19.
Noller is the CEO and co-founder of Switch Automation, a smart building software company specialising in building performance optimisation. She has more than 20 years’ experience in real estate, technology and sustainability. Rated in the top 50 female entrepreneurs in Australia, she is passionate about helping enterprises execute more efficient business operations by leveraging digital facilities management technology.
Nunn is the head of sustainability for AMP Capital Real Estate. His keynote speech will tell the astonishing story of the Quay Quarter Tower at Circular Quay in Sydney. In a world first, about two-thirds of the building’s original core was retained through the construction process, resulting in a carbon saving of 6.1 million kilograms.
Including the keynotes, Outlook 2020 will feature more than 30 local and overseas presenters who will discuss and investigate the latest trends in HVAC&R and the built environment. The sessions will be organised around five key conference themes: innovation and disruption; climate change, sustainability, adaptation and resilience; urbanisation; demographics and social change; and regulation and legislation.
There will also be two panel sessions and a networking café.
