Thermo King Unveils Advanced E-100e and E-200e Units for Light Commercial Vehicles at IAA 2024

Thermo King, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, introduced its latest refrigeration units, the E-100e and E-200e, at IAA 2024. Designed for vans and light commercial vehicles up to 12m³, these new units stand out with their robust, compact, lightweight, full-aluminium construction, which reduces weight and maintenance costs while ensuring easy installation across various vehicle types.

Thermo King’s IAA showcase focused on its commitment to electrification, sustainability, and efficiency in transport refrigeration. The E-100e and E-200e units exemplify this commitment:

Key Features:

  • E-200e: Offers best-in-class cooling capacity, enhanced performance, and reliability with innovative reverse cycle heat pump technology.
  • Smart Controls: Both E-100e and E-200e units optimize compressor speed based on ambient and box conditions, enhancing energy efficiency and performance.

E-Series Highlights:

The complete Thermo King E-Series provides fully electric, zero direct emissions, and low-noise refrigeration solutions suitable for both Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles. These units prioritize efficiency, sustainability, and flexibility and feature advanced connectivity to optimize performance and reduce operational costs. The powerful and consistent cooling capacity, rapid pulldown, and quick temperature recovery are independent of the vehicle’s engine speed, maintaining precise temperature control even when the vehicle is not in operation.

AxlePower Innovation:

“AxlePower, now launched across EMEA, can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 12 tonnes per year for distribution trailers. AxlePower-ed trailers have covered over 950,000 km, generating over 46,500 kWh while on the road, even in extreme ambient conditions from Europe to South Africa,” said Claudio Zanframundo, President of Thermo King EMEA Truck, Trailer, Bus, and Global Marine, Rail, Air.

Comprehensive Service and Support:

“Thermo King’s dedication goes beyond just equipment. We provide a full suite of services to maximize uptime, sustainability, savings, and operational control. This includes connectivity solutions for fleet and cargo management, customizable service agreements, performance upgrades, and 24/7 support from our global dealer network,” Zanframundo added.
