A technical training program on sustainable cooling and climate legislation took place in Antalya, Türkiye, from February 12-14, 2025. Organized by UNDP Türkiye in collaboration with the Directorate of Climate Change, the sessions targeted provincial directorates of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change (MoEUCC). Over 60 representatives from 27 provincial directorates attended.

The training covered key topics, including climate change policies, Türkiye’s upcoming emissions trading system (ETS), fluorinated greenhouse gas (f-gas) regulations, and sustainable cooling solutions. Discussions focused on strengthening compliance, preventing illegal trade, and improving monitoring, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gases.

Participants, primarily experts from environmental inspection units, gained insights into the enforcement and implementation of legislation. The sessions emphasized the role of regulatory frameworks in shaping the cooling market and the broader environmental and economic benefits of transitioning to sustainable cooling solutions.
