Star Refrigeration releases Azanechiller 2.0

Star Refrigeration has announced the immediate availability of an as-new Azanechiller 2.0. The air-cooled ammonia water/glycol chiller has never left the factory and is available for delivery in around two weeks.

Designed for high- and medium-temperature cooling applications, the unit supports glycol secondary fluid temperatures down to -15°C (5°F). It provides a nominal cooling capacity of up to 850 kW (approximately 2.9 million BTU/h), based on -8°C (17.6°F) glycol.

The Azanechiller 2.0 features a large-capacity air-cooled condenser and is designed to maintain cooling performance at ambient temperatures of 40°C (104°F) and above. Similar installations continued to meet site cooling demand during the recent heatwave, typically operating at part load with spare capacity available.

The unit uses ammonia with a refrigerant charge of 263 kg (approximately 580 lb). It requires no water or chemical water treatment and includes variable-speed reciprocating compressors, an industrial-grade air-cooled condenser, Mitsubishi PLC and HMI controls, automatic oil recovery and factory-tested plug-and-play installation.

The chiller is supplied in as-new condition with a 12-month warranty. Its industrial components are designed for an operational life exceeding 25 years.
