U.S. shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps saw a remarkable rise in November 2024, totaling 707,436 units. This marks a 55.2% increase compared to November 2023, where 455,860 units were shipped, according to the latest data from AHRI.
Breaking down the figures, air conditioner shipments surged by 56.5%, reaching 391,531 units, up from 250,170 in the previous year. Air-source heat pumps followed closely, with shipments rising by 53.6% to 315,905 units, compared to 205,690 in November 2023.
On a year-to-date basis, combined shipments of these products reached 9,162,444 units, an 11.5% increase from 8,221,085 units in 2023. Central air conditioner shipments grew by 9.7% to 5,265,430 units, while heat pump shipments increased by 14.0%, totaling 3,897,014 units compared to 3,419,585 in the same period last year.
