Enex Technologies publishes first UN Global Compact sustainability report

Enex Technologies publishes first UN Global Compact sustainability report

Enex Technologies has released its first Communication on Progress (CoP) under the United Nations Global Compact, detailing the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance during 2024. The document outlines strategic initiatives that support the integration of sustainability into the multinational’s operations and leadership practices.

The CoP highlights Enex Technologies’ efforts in energy efficiency and waste management, including the replacement of plant lighting systems with LEDs and the recycling of approximately 90% of special waste generated during the year. The company also reports that its high-efficiency systems using natural refrigerants helped avoid 177,475 tons of CO₂ equivalent emissions in 2024.

The report also addresses gender diversity and workplace inclusion, noting that 20% of managerial roles are held by women. Key topics such as non-discrimination, health and safety, and gender equality are mapped to UNGC principles and relevant Sustainable Development Goals.

Governance and accountability are another focus area. ESG oversight involves the senior leadership and the board, with annual risk assessments in place. Enex Technologies is also reinforcing its organizational model in line with Italian legislation (Model 231) and plans to implement the UNGC anti-corruption course for employees.

In July 2025, the company signed an ESG covenant, reflecting growing recognition of its sustainability commitments among financial stakeholders.

According to François Audo, CEO at Enex Technologies: “Our first CoP is a further recognition of the company’s commitment towards transparent communication, customer advocacy and environmental protection across our global footprint.”

Future goals include submitting emissions reduction targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) by the end of 2025, aligning the company’s Code of Ethics across Italian subsidiaries, and publishing a sustainability report under the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME) by 2026.
