Gree Australia launches inverter heat pump using R290 refrigerant

Gree Australia has introduced its new Inverter Hot Water Heat Pump, offering hot water production up to 70°C without a booster element. Designed for both residential and commercial applications, the unit uses R290 refrigerant and inverter technology to improve energy efficiency.

The system achieves a COP of 5.41, delivering 2.3 kW of heating from 0.426 kW of input power. According to the company, this allows for energy savings of up to 70% compared to conventional systems.

The heat pump is available with 200 L and 270 L storage tanks, both constructed with a crystal titanium enamel coating. The tanks have undergone 1,080 hours of acid resistance and corrosion protection testing.

Technical features include a dedicated inverter compressor, external microchannel heat exchanger, and Wi-Fi programmable control. The unit operates at 44 dB, is weather-resistant, and is designed for outdoor installation.

Gree Australia provides a 6-year warranty covering parts and labour for this product.
