Kelvion updates adiabatic spray system for heat rejection

Kelvion has redeveloped its adiabatic spray system for heat rejection and heat recovery applications, with an improved smart control system designed to match water output to ambient conditions and reduce water consumption.

The updated system includes new sparge inlet valves and a pump equipped with a variable frequency drive as standard. According to the company, these features allow flow rates to be finely tuned for cooling performance and water-use efficiency.

Kelvion says the adaptable control system allows customers to prioritise different operating goals, including minimising water usage, reducing noise, or optimising energy efficiency.

The system uses low-flow nozzles with an 80° spray angle for fine droplet size and high-flow nozzles with a 130° spray angle for humidification. The spray is directed against the air flow, using modern nozzle technology and advanced sparge control settings for optimised water utilisation.
