Schneider Electric Launches Uniflair XCA Chillers for AI Data Centers

The oil-free range spans 1,200 kW to 2,500 kW and offers up to 60% energy savings in moderate climates, with shipments from June 2026.

Schneider Electric Launches Uniflair XCA Chillers for AI Data Centers

Schneider Electric has launched Uniflair XCA, a new series of air-cooled and free-cooling chillers designed for AI-driven, high-density liquid-cooled data centers. The range includes Uniflair XCAC air-cooled and Uniflair XCAF free-cooling models.

The series integrates oil-free centrifugal compressors with magnetic bearing technology and built-in variable-speed drives. Schneider Electric says the platform is designed to support energy performance and operational stability across varied thermal loads and ambient conditions.

The XCA line uses a high-efficiency spray-type evaporator and includes six sizes of oil-free centrifugal chillers from 1,200 kW to 2,500 kW (approx. 4.1 million to 8.5 million BTU/h). The units use low-GWP refrigerants and support elevated water temperatures for AI-optimized data centers and liquid cooling infrastructure.

Key features include V-shape microchannel coils, large-diameter EC fans, enhanced heat rejection, and free-cooling operation with water outlet temperatures up to 33°C (91.4°F). XCAF models can operate from -20°C to +52°C (-4°F to 125.6°F) and, in moderate climates, can achieve up to 60% energy savings compared with mechanical cooling alone.

The platform also includes electrical, hydraulic, noise control, and performance enhancement options, as well as quick restart capability that restores full operational capacity within 3 minutes after a power outage. Schneider Electric says Uniflair XCA is aligned with EU F-Gas Regulation 2024/573 and uses ultra-low-GWP refrigerants as standard.

“Energy efficiency, adaptability and reliability are essential components of liquid cooling systems for AI-optimized data centers, and we’ve designed the Uniflair XCA line with these most important design features at the forefront,” said Andrew Bradner, Senior Vice President, Cooling Business at Schneider Electric. “With adaptable water operating temperatures and versatile deployment options, the XCA line features a system-level approach that gives operators scalability, enhanced performance and long-term peace of mind as data center complexity continues to rise.”

The first Uniflair XCA units begin shipping worldwide in June 2026.
