Haier Biomedical Debuts Storage Systems at European and Japan Exhibitions

The launches pair scalable automated biobank storage with a compact ultra-low-temperature freezer tailored for Japanese laboratories.

Haier Biomedical Debuts Storage Systems at European and Japan Exhibitions

Haier Biomedical introduced new low-temperature storage products at Europe Biobank Week 2026 in Prague and Interphex Week Tokyo 2026. The launches target European biobanks and space-constrained laboratories in Japan.

At Europe Biobank Week, the company launched the HAB80-60KA / HAB80-60KB automated ultra-low-temperature sample storage system. Designed to preserve biological samples at -80°C (-112°F), it supports applications ranging from 50,000 to more than 200,000 samples, including small-molecule compounds, core samples, and disease, population, and research biobanks.

The system uses a modular “KA base + KB expansion” architecture for on-demand capacity growth. It also includes dual independent refrigeration, AI-driven automated monitoring and management, and real-time recording of sample status from entry and inventory through dispatch.

At Interphex Week Tokyo, Haier Biomedical unveiled the DWL368BPST ultra-low-temperature freezer, developed for laboratories with limited space. The unit is 670 mm (26.4 in) wide and uses a dual independent refrigeration system intended to protect samples if one system fails.

Compared with conventional models, the DWL368BPST provides ±2°C temperature uniformity instead of ±4°C, 26% lower energy consumption, 45% faster temperature recovery, and operating noise below 44 dB. The company said the product definition and design were optimized for the requirements of Japanese laboratories.
