Frigoveneta has acquired Italian industrial refrigeration company Madefrigor and its wholly owned subsidiary Tecnica del Freddo (TDF), marking the platform’s fifth add-on investment in 18 months. Alongside the acquisition, the platform has rebranded as Glacialis, bringing its companies under a single group identity.
Founded in 1975, Madefrigor designs, assembles and installs tailor-made industrial refrigeration systems and air handling units (AHUs), covering engineering through after-sales support. In May 2025, Madefrigor acquired Tecnica del Freddo, a refrigeration installation and maintenance specialist with more than 70 years of experience.
Madefrigor and TDF primarily serve the food and beverage industry, with expertise in dairy, cured meats, drying and curing plants. Other applications include refrigerated warehouses and pharmaceuticals. Madefrigor provides natural refrigerant solutions using ammonia, CO2 and propane and has a pool of certified technicians.
The acquisition adds natural refrigerant chiller and AHU manufacturing capabilities to the group and expands its international presence, including Argentina and Australia, where Madefrigor has long-standing partnerships with local dealers. Francesco Bosa, Madefrigor’s Managing Director and sole shareholder, will remain at the helm of the company and reinvest in the platform alongside Ambienta.
Glacialis is an investment platform of Ambienta IV. Ambienta entered the refrigeration industry in early 2024 and is developing the platform through organic growth and acquisitions of companies with complementary technologies, services and market access.
