Innovative Refrigeration Systems has acquired QuickFreeze, an Indiana-based developer and manufacturer of blast-chilling and freezing technologies for the food cold chain, from Dan and Bob Tippmann. The acquisition adds QuickFreeze’s patented technologies and team to Innovative’s industrial refrigeration engineering and aftermarket services business. It is Innovative’s first acquisition in partnership with CCMP Growth Advisors.
QuickFreeze will continue operating under its existing brand within Innovative. Bob Tippmann will remain president, alongside the current management team, and become a shareholder in Innovative.
QuickFreeze develops modular pallet blast-freezing systems for cold-storage facilities, third-party logistics providers and food processors. Its product portfolio includes QFM, a modular unit with auto-start variable-speed EC fans and Wi-Fi cloud monitoring, and Spartan, a two-deep blast-freezing platform.
The portfolio also includes T2 Spacer, a pallet-spacing system designed to maximize airflow and protect case integrity, and T-Probe, a wireless temperature logger for subzero conditions. QuickFreeze has also patented AutoSeal and AutoSense accessories for QFM systems, which eliminate bypass air and automate cycle completion without physical probes.
QuickFreeze has more than 20 years of experience developing patented blast-freezing technologies. According to the companies, the acquisition will expand Innovative’s product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities while providing additional resources for QuickFreeze’s operations and team development.
“Becoming part of a larger organization will not only provide us with the additional resources needed to continue growing but also offer meaningful professional development opportunities to our talented team members,” said Bob Tippmann, President of QuickFreeze.
